Strength through support

supporting our community with the impact of cancer

Manx Cancer Help is a positive mental health support service that has been looking after people affected by cancer on the Isle of Man for the last 35 years. This year we are expanding our service to include positive mental health support in other areas.
Our plan is to address the lack of options that are available on Island, when affected with stress and anxiety in the workplace.
A drop in support group is our first priority to help those who need support, with signposting for 1to1 sessions when the need is identified.
Highlighting the importance of early detection and intervention is something we are eager to engage local businesses with.
We will be offering local education on being able to identify early signs of stress and anxiety in the workplace as well as introducing coping methods and setting out action plans.
Knowing basics on spotting early signs of anxiety and stress, will help reduce the amount of time staff take off from work, as well as reduce the strain on GP’s and the hospital and improve productivity at work and help towards a happy home life.
The Lisa Lowe Centre and Manx Cancer Help employ only fully qualified psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors.
We are very proud of what we do and want to help as many people that are affected by stress and anxiety in any walk of life.
Our charity does not receive any grants from the IOM Government. Mental health support is thriving in the UK and we are keen for the services on Island to mirror this.
To carry on offering mental health support for free, we need to raise over £300k annually, this is currently achieved by grant applications, fundraising and asking local companies to raise funds for us.
