Manx Cancer Help
At Manx Cancer Help we recognise the impact that cancer can have not only on the individual, but also on loved ones, friends and family members and we welcome anyone who may be in need of our support. Manx Cancer Help is here for any person affected by cancer; this may be as a patient who is diagnosed with cancer, or a family member or friend of someone who has been diagnosed. If you are in the caring profession and work with people with cancer, we are here to support you too.
Manx Cancer Help offers free and confidential specialist psychological assessment and counselling sessions, both face to face and over the phone to anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis. We accept self-referrals and so you do not need a doctor’s referral. We aim to keep waiting times to a minimum and will usually offer a first appointment in under three weeks.
We know it can sometimes be difficult to make the first steps, but please don't worry. At Manx Cancer Help we are here to listen and to support you. Either phone us on 679544 or drop in to the Lisa Lowe Centre and speak to one of our team. We promise to try and make you feel completely comfortable and at ease while talking with you about any help and support we can offer. All our services are confidential and non-judgmental. Whether you decide Manx Cancer Help is for you or not, it's entirely your choice!
We provide specialist emotional and psychological support in line with NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence), delivered by professionally trained staff in the specialist field of psycho-oncology. Psycho-oncology is concerned with promoting positive mental health and emotional well-being for people whose lives are affected by cancer. These can include lifestyle, psychological and social factors. The Service is headed up by a visiting Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Professor Robin Davidson.
We operate our services from our Lisa Lowe Centre which is both welcoming and comfortable and provides a relaxed and friendly atmosphere away from a hospital or hospice environment.

To cover the costs of our ever expanding service we need to raise £330,000 a year. As we are a charity and are completely self-funded, this money needs to be raised through our own events or in collaboration with local businesses and individuals.
Our mission is to support our community with the impact of cancer.
